Cyprus Conference Incentive Scheme 2026 to 2029: What Organisers Need to Know

The scheme sets category-specific support ceilings for eligible events held in Cyprus. Corporate conferences may qualify for support of up to €35,000. Nonprofit, association and academic conferences and meetings may qualify for up to €25,000. Incentive trips may qualify for up to €20,000. International competitions and sales workshops may qualify for up to €10,000.
These are maximum ceilings, not automatic awards. Formal application, applicant eligibility, de minimis rules and available programme funds all apply. The scheme is an advance-determined incentive based on the event's characteristics, it is not a promise of reimbursement for each supplier invoice.
Participation thresholds and excursion requirement
For conference and incentive categories, at least 75% of participants must travel from abroad. For international competitions and sales workshops, at least 50 participants must travel from abroad.
An excursion is a basic scheme requirement; confirm the category-specific programme rules in the official scheme. This is not simply a social add-on, it is a defined component of the programme that must be planned and delivered.
How support is calculated
For conference and incentive categories, the support calculation reflects the overnight stays generated, the season, the area of Cyprus and the nature of the event. Organisers should factor this into their planning from the outset, as destination choice, programme length and timing all influence the outcome.
Certain mainly state-funded bodies and EU-project partner meetings are excluded from the scheme. This is not an exhaustive list, confirm your eligibility with the Deputy Ministry before committing.
Practical planning sequence
A workable planning sequence starts with confirming your event category and provisional participant numbers, then establishing how many will travel from abroad. From there, destination and venue selection, programme length and excursion planning can be developed in parallel.
CPC Events can support this process from the initial brief stage, reviewing your concept against the published scheme criteria, identifying suitable venues and hotels across Cyprus destinations, coordinating delegate logistics and transport, and planning the excursion component. In-house technical production through EventsOnWheels covers AV, staging, lighting, simultaneous interpretation and hybrid requirements as needed.
Why Cyprus works for international conferences and incentives
A Cyprus programme can combine conference sessions with coastal, rural or historic destination experiences. Venue, accommodation, group transport and excursion timing should be planned together around the organiser's objectives. CPC Events helps assess the practical fit of the programme and destination.
CPC Events has been delivering conferences, incentive programmes, corporate events and team building in Cyprus since 2004. The company appears in the Cyprus Convention Bureau's official DMC directory and provides destination management, PCO services and technical production through EventsOnWheels as a single coordinated service.
Before you commit
The scheme takes effect on Gazette publication and runs until 31 December 2029. Confirm the effective date, current application availability and full category rules with the Deputy Ministry of Tourism before committing to a programme on the basis of scheme support.
